Totems: Reforged is a Forge 1.20.1 mod that turns totems into a full survival, combat, utility, and progression system.

Instead of using totems only as one-time emergency items, this mod adds 27 custom totems with active abilities, passive emergency rescues, dual-totem combos, and a custom Totem Altar used to upgrade totems from Level I to Level III.

Active Abilities

Every custom totem can be used with right-click when its condition is active.

For example, Fire Totem helps near fire or lava danger, Water Totem helps underwater, Gravity Totem helps during dangerous falls, Miner Totem helps while mining or in cave danger, and Ender Totem can teleport you toward the direction you are looking.

Totems are context-based, so they are designed to avoid being wasted in the wrong situation.

Passive Emergency Rescue

Custom totems can also activate automatically in dangerous situations when held in the main hand or offhand.

Some examples:

• Void Totem can save you from void danger.
• Fire Totem can save you from lethal fire or lava damage.
• Water Totem can save you from drowning.
• Gravity Totem can save you from deadly fall damage.
• Wither Totem can save you from wither danger.
• Phoenix Totem can act as a powerful emergency fallback.

Dual Totem Combos

Holding two different custom totems can create powerful dual activations when both conditions are valid.

Example combos include:

• Berserker + Revenge – aggressive melee combat combo
• Vampire + Plague – drain life while weakening enemies
• Ocean + Water – underwater survival setup
• Nether + Fire – Nether and lava survival
• Sun + Soul – undead and magic counter
• Shadow + Ender – escape and repositioning
• Guardian + Shield – strong defense combo
• Time + Archer – projectile and enemy control

Totem Altar Progression

The Totem Altar is a custom upgrade block used to improve your favorite totems.

Totems can be upgraded from Level I to Level III using materials and XP:

• Level I → Level II: Amethyst Shard + Emerald + XP
• Level II → Level III: Echo Shard + Diamond + XP

Higher-level totems can gain longer durations, larger effect radius, stronger recovery, better passive rescue effects, stronger combat bonuses, and improved utility effects.

Tooltip System

Each totem includes clear tooltip information.

Normal tooltips show when the totem can be used. Holding Shift shows more detailed information, including active effect, passive rescue condition, suggested dual combos, and level bonuses.

Polished Systems

• Gravity Totem only activates during real fall danger, not normal jumping.
• Miner Totem works while mining and in cave danger.
• Ender Totem teleports toward the direction you are looking.
• Totem Altar includes safety logic for upgrade outputs.
• Dual activation overlay displays two activated totems side by side.
• Custom activation overlay shows the correct custom totem texture.
