1. Overview
We respect your privacy. Our apps let you browse, download and — in some apps — create community-made Minecraft content (mods, add-ons, maps, textures, skins and similar). We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email, phone number or precise location. This policy explains what limited data is processed when you use the app and which third-party services are involved. Features differ between apps, so not every item below applies to every app.
2. Information We Process
Data stored only on your device
- Your favorites, download history and recently downloaded files.
- Any skins or drafts you create or edit (until you export or delete them).
- Your in-app preferences (filters, selected language, consent choices).
- Whether you purchased the ad-free option.
This information stays on your device (and in your Google account backup, if you have Android Auto Backup enabled).
Data processed by our backend (api.mcmodshub.com)
Our apps load the content catalog from our own backend, which processes your IP address to deliver the response. We additionally process the following only when you choose to use that feature:
- Comments. If you post a comment, the nickname you choose, your comment text and basic device context (device model, app version) are sent to our backend, automatically moderated, and shown publicly next to the item. If notifications are enabled, a notification token is stored so we can tell you when you receive a reply.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging token plus coarse signals (language, timezone offset, chosen content interests) to send relevant "new content" and reply notifications. You can turn this off anytime in your device settings.
- Reports & feedback. If you report content or send feedback, we store your message (and an email address only if you choose to provide one) so we can respond and improve the app.
- Creator submissions. If you apply to feature your YouTube video, we store the channel and video links, your email and your message, so we can review the video and reply to you. Your email is used only for that correspondence and is never shown publicly or shared. The channel name and video are already public on YouTube; we show them next to the relevant mod. Ask us anytime to remove your submission.
Creation tools (skin-editor app)
If you use an app that lets you create skins:
- AI generation. When you generate a skin from a text prompt, the prompt text you type is sent to Hugging Face to produce the image. Please do not include personal information in prompts.
- Import by username. When you import a player's skin, the Minecraft username you enter is sent to Mojang and Minotar to fetch that player's public skin.
Data processed by third-party SDKs
- Advertising identifiers and device/usage signals, collected by our advertising and analytics providers (see Section 3) to show ads and measure app performance.
- Approximate, coarse signals such as country/region, device model, OS version, app version and crash diagnostics.
- Install attribution (e.g. the campaign that led you to install) via the Google Play Install Referrer.
3. Third-Party Services
Our apps use the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy. Which ones apply depends on the app and the features you use:
- Google AdMob — displays ads; may use your advertising ID and device data for ad delivery and (with consent) personalization. Google Privacy Policy.
- Unity Ads — additional ad network used through AdMob mediation. Unity Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Analytics — anonymous, aggregated usage statistics.
- Firebase Crashlytics — crash and stability diagnostics.
- Firebase Performance Monitoring — app start and rendering performance metrics.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications when you enable them.
- Hugging Face — generates a skin image from your text prompt, in apps that offer AI generation. Hugging Face Privacy Policy.
- Mojang & Minotar — fetch a player's public Minecraft skin by username, in apps that offer skin import. Minecraft (Mojang) Privacy Policy.
- Google Play Services & Google Play Billing — core platform services and the processing of in-app purchases (see Section 5).
4. Ads & Your Consent
Our apps are free and supported by ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we show a Google-certified consent screen (Google User Messaging Platform) on first launch where you can accept or decline personalized ads. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalized. You can also remove ads entirely via an optional in-app purchase.
5. In-App Purchases
Some apps offer optional purchases (for example, "Remove Ads", a temporary ad-free boost, or voluntary "tip" donations). All payments are processed by Google Play. We never receive or store your card number or payment details — Google handles the transaction and only tells our app whether a purchase succeeded so we can unlock the corresponding feature.
6. Downloaded Content
Mods and other content are hosted by third parties (such as CurseForge and Modrinth). When you download an item, your device connects directly to those services, which may process your IP address as part of delivering the file. We do not control those services' data practices.
7. Children
Our apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.
8. Data Retention & Your Choices
- On-device data is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
- You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalization in your device settings.
- Depending on your region (e.g. GDPR / CCPA), you may have rights to access or delete data held by the third-party providers listed above; please use their respective tools and policies, or contact us for help.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
10. Our Website (mcmodshub.com)
Our website is a browsable catalog of Minecraft content. It has no accounts and no login — you can browse without giving us personal information. It uses a few third-party services that set cookies:
- Google Analytics 4 — helps us understand how the site is used (pages viewed, device/browser type, truncated IP, approximate location). We don't use it to identify you or sell data. Opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Google AdSense — displays ads; Google and its vendors may set cookies to serve and measure them. Where personalization isn't consented to, ads are non-personalized. Control this at Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info.
- Functional storage — your theme (light/dark) preference is kept in your browser and shared with no one.
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we ask consent before setting non-essential (analytics/advertising) cookies and you can change it any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. Full details are in our Cookie Policy. As mods and files are hosted by or linked to third parties, see our Copyright & Takedown Policy for removal requests.
