Spud Mod

A feet-themed Aether addon with a full progression system, tameable rats, custom fluids, and multi-mod crafting chains. Equal parts serious modded content and absurd comedy.

What does this mod add?

Chudington Ore

A glowing ore found only in the Aether dimension. Mining it drops Raw Spud — and has a 10% chance to spawn a hostile Spud Rat that wants to nibble you to death. Supports Fortune and Silk Touch.

The Spud Progression

Raw Spud → Spud → Spudding → Spuddington → Spuddington Block

Each tier unlocks new recipes and capabilities. Spud is a fast-eating snack that grants Gripper Feet (speed + jump boost + wall climbing). Spuddington is a superfood with massive buffs.

Spud Rats

Small hostile mobs that spawn from Chudington Ore. Kill them for Toe Jam, or tame them with Spud for a loyal companion that:

• Follows you and fights for you
• Rides on your head (invulnerable while riding)
• Sniffs out nearby Chudington Ore and marks it with particles
• Heals when fed Spud

Gripper Feet Effect

A custom potion effect that gives:

• Speed (scales with level)
• Jump Boost (scales with level)
• Wall Climbing — walk into any wall and climb straight up like a spider

Griptium — Endgame Material

A multi-step crafting chain requiring both Create and Ars Nouveau:

1. Toe Jam → Create Crushing Wheels → Crushed Toe Jam
2. Crushed Toe Jam + Lava → Create Superheated Mixer → Molten Grip Fluid
3. Molten Grip Fluid → Create Compacting (Superheated) → Grip Plate
4. Grip Plate + Spudding → Ars Enchanting Apparatus → Griptium

Molten Grip Fluid

A pink lava-like fluid. Burns on contact. Can be bucketed, piped, and stored in tanks.

Tools & Equipment

• Griptium Pickaxe — Only mines Chudington Ore (useless on everything else), but mines it fast with 50% bonus drops
• Spuddington Block — Wearable on your feet slot. Pure drip.
• Spud Familiar — Endgame Ars Nouveau item. Passively grants Mana Boost III and Mana Regen III while in your inventory.

Throwable Raw Spud

Right-click to yeet a Raw Spud at your enemies. 2 damage on hit with a custom death message: "Player was spudded to death"

Create Integration

• Crushing: Chudington Ore → Raw Spud
• Crushing: Toe Jam → Crushed Toe Jam
• Pressing: Raw Spud → Spud
• Mixing (heated): Raw Spud + Water → Spud
• Mixing (superheated): Crushed Toe Jam + Lava → Molten Grip Fluid
• Compacting (superheated): Molten Grip Fluid → Grip Plate

Ars Nouveau Integration

• Enchanting Apparatus: Raw Spud → Spudding (500 source)
• Enchanting Apparatus: Grip Plate → Griptium (1000 source)
• Enchanting Apparatus: Spuddington → Spud Familiar (2000 source)

Loot

All Spud items can appear in dungeon chests and loot containers (including Lootr). Rare items like the Griptium Pickaxe and Spud Familiar have very low drop rates.
