Tectonic Layers

Tectonic Layers turns the Overworld into a vertically stacked world: the Nether exists deep below the surface, the normal Overworld stays in the middle, and the End exists high above the world.

Instead of using separate dimensions for everything, the mod builds a continuous layered world where you can travel vertically between environments. The goal is to make Minecraft feel like one huge connected planet, while still preserving the identity of the Nether and the End.

Features

Required dependencies

This mod requires:

Tectonic and Lithostitched provide the world generation foundation this mod is built around. Amplified Nether is required because Tectonic Layers uses the real Nether source terrain as the basis for the deep Nether layer.

Important beta warning

This is a beta world generation mod. It changes dimensions, terrain generation, chunk conversion, portals, lighting, fog, and End behavior.

Back up your worlds before installing or updating.

For the best results, use this in a new world. Existing worlds may have already-generated chunks that do not fully match the stacked layout.

Compatibility notes

Tectonic Layers is designed around Tectonic, Lithostitched, and Amplified Nether. Other biome, structure, or Nether/End mods may work, but compatibility is still experimental.
