Odonis.jar

Purpose

A mod made to both enhance and complexify the "early-mid and mid-late experience" of a minecraft playthrough. As well as expanding the game overall to a generic level. Seeking to be its own "exploration update" for the game.

Odonis.jar's main features includes a new primary dimension, being the Niflheim. As well as some small changes to the overworld.

The Niflheim is a cold, sorta bizarre dimension that seems to mirror the overworld, with new mobs, and rare resources.

The Tartarus is a huge flooded dimension where just crossing one block equates to crossing 4 chunks in the overworld. Upon entering you will likely end up in the caves underneath, goodluck getting all the way up.

Other additions include a lot of natural blocks/ores/plants and some functional ones capable of alterting the game, for example, in-game time-wise. Or even capable of altering the way resources are gained (Via the rock-dependant extractors)

Odonis.jar makes use of the "not-frequently-taken-into-account" XP/Level bar, giving it a purpose that goes beyond enchantments. With tools that consume XP in order to work to their full potential.

The mod is also designed for those who thought the Nether and End just, weren't enough.

Addon Groups

New constructive or functional blocks. (About 10 of them, some blocks are present in both groups)

A huge amount of new natural blocks. (Roughly 70...)

Armor and tool sets for some of the newer resources. (Uranium, Galvarode, Thulium, Bismuth)

Some types of food.

New entities.

How to enter the Niflheim.

The Niflheim's portal must be like the nether's but instead of using Obsidian, you must use Smooth Stone instead. Ruined Niflheim portals can also appear around the overworld. To open it, you'll have to make a custom igniter that will appear on your recipe book upon the obtainment of coal, iron or leather. You'll need 1 coal, 2 iron ingots, and 2 leather to craft the Niflheim Igniter.

How to enter Tartarus

The Niflheim has a certain rock by the name of Gehennic Cluster which serves as the structure for the portal. Said block has a resistance similar to Obsidian. Thus, grab an Uranium or Diamond pickaxe beforehand. Then, with one stick, one gehennic cluster and 3 Quronias (One of the main Niflheim flowers). Forge the Tartarus Enabler, which will ignite the portal and likely take you to the deep underground of said dimension due its flood.

How to enter Aethereal Skies

Use blasted galvarode to forge Galvarode blocks. Which will work as the portal frame. Use lapis to create the Aethereal wand, and open up the portal. This is a new dimension original to BETA 8. Inspired by the Aether. It takes a bit of a 45 degree turn in the theming and makes it some kind of "Post-Cloud Overworld".

Summary

Odonis.jar aims to expand Minecraft's mid-game experience by adding a heavier emphasis on the adventure aspect of the game with 3 new dimensions, with their own rewards. As well as adding its own little changes to the main overworld.
