Turbo Ghasts

Which build do you need?

This mod ships a separate file for every mod loader and every version of the game. Pick both, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game.

Mod loader

Minecraft version

⬇ Download for 1.21.9–26.1.2 · Fabric⬇ Download for 1.21.9–26.1 · Data pack
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

Happy ghasts are slow; This datapack makes them faster. A new treasure enchantment, Aerodynamic, can be applied to any harness to increase a happy ghast's flying speed! The enchantment is only in effect while you're actually riding the happy ghast, so there is the benefit of the speed boost while avoiding the nuisance of trying to mount a fast-moving happy ghast in the air!

Features

Details

The Aerodynamic enchantment ranges from levels 1 to 3 and can only be applied to harnesses by an enchanted book via an anvil. To obtain an enchanted book, they can be found in bastion treasure chests, trial chamber vaults as rare loot, or they can be traded with a librarian villager.

A happy ghast's flying speed follows this formula: (50 + mn)/1000 where n is the aerodynamic level, m is a configurable multiplier which is 20 by default, and 50 represents the base flying speed attribute value of happy ghasts scaled up by 1000x. To configure the multiplier, use the following command (Set the multiplier to your desired value multiplied by 10, e.g. a multiplier of 20 is effectively a 2x multiplier whereas a multiplier of 15 is effectively a 1.5x multiplier):

/scoreboard players set #tbg.config tbg.multiplier <integer>

To disable or enable the datapack without using the vanilla /datapack command, run the following command:

/function tbg:tbg/disable or /function tbg:tbg/enable

To remove this datapack from a world, run the following command before removing it from the datapack folder:

/function tbg:tbg/uninstall
