More Variants Core
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.
More Variants Core
More Variants Core provides the shared integrations and systems used by the More Variants Add-ons.
By itself, this mod will not add any content and is only needed when using a mod with the "More Variants:"-prefix, such as More Variants: Pale Oak Backport.
For developers:
Can I use More Variants Core to develop my own Add-on? You are a modder yourself and are wondering if this could be useful for you?
Wow, sweet, and generally yes, that would be possible.
I wrote everything to be very modular and needing as little code as possible on the Add-on side, though generally with only myself in mind.
I do - as of now - not foresee other modders being interested in creating their own Add-ons for More X Variant mods, as such there is currently no documentation on how to do such thing. However, I wouldn't mind creating some if there's interest.
So, please, if you're considering it, let me know! (:
