F4 Menu
This is a tiny mod i wrote, while playing minecraft 1.2.5. In that version, the F3 menu covers up the chat with a bar chart, so it's hard to navigate by coordinates. So i made this F4 menu instead, which is unobtrusive enough to be kept on all the time, kinda like a minimap, just without the map.
To use this mod, just press F4 or Shift+F4 to toggle the menu. The menu lists the coordinates, the facing direction (if opened with Shift+F4), and the FPS (if running slower than 50 fps).
If you are also interested in writing forge mods for an ancient versions of minecraft in 2026 (or later), the source code repository might be of interest to you. It has a few scripts to install all the esoteric dependencies and build the jar automatically.
