⚠️ Minecraft 1.21.1 Warning

Minecraft 1.21.1 can use a lot of memory and may crash or freeze, especially when switching resource packs.

To help reduce lag and crashes, use these Java settings (JVM flags) in your launcher:

-XX:+UseG1GC -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -Xmx4G -Xms2G

What it does (click to expand) #### 🧠 What each part means (in plain English):

• -XX:+UseG1GC
  → Uses a smarter memory cleaner (called G1) that keeps the game smoother by cleaning memory in small chunks instead of all at once.

• -XX:+DisableExplicitGC
  → Blocks Minecraft or mods from doing random full memory cleanups that can cause big lag or crashes.

• -Xmx4G
  → Sets the maximum memory the game can use to 4GB. This keeps the game from using too much and crashing your computer. (set to half of what you have, like if you have 8GB RAM set it to something like 4GB... if you aren't running anything else and on linux try to set it to 5GB, but no more than that)

• -Xms2G
  → Sets the starting memory to 2GB, so the game has enough room right from the beginning to load smoothly.
