Modern Textures
Java resource pack listed for Minecraft 1.0–1.2. File opened and checked on 21 Oct 2026; downloads from the MC Java Mods app on Android.
⬇ Download on Modrinth
Backports textures from modern Minecraft to 1.2.5 and older.
The "No Mojang" version doesn't replace the Mojang startup logo. The size of the modern image causes <b1.8 to crash, but it doesn't show up even if downscaled.
What I haven't done
- Compass — Impossible without mods
- Clock — Impossible without mods
- Water — Impossible without mods
- Lava — Impossible without mods
- Villagers — Quite hard, and can't be done fully without mods (contributions welcome for what is possible, though)
- Panorama — I don't want to tie this pack to a specific version of modern Minecraft
- Minecraft logo — Let's be real, most people probably don't want the new one
