About

Nautical Nonsense is a resource pack for Minecraft: Java Edition that aims to celebrate all things SpongeBob! It features tons of nods and references to episodes, specials, movies and games, including the old Flash games from Nick.com! This resource pack follows a similar style to the official SpongeBob DLC for Bedrock Edition however the goal is to retexture everything.

Work in Progress Notice

The texture pack isn't complete at the moment and still has ways to go. There will be updates released (at least once a month at the very minimum). Feedback and suggestions are always welcome and encouraged. Feel free to leave any of your ideas on the resource pack's Curseforge page: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/nautical-nonsense/comments

Isn't there already an official SpongeBob DLC?

The Official SpongeBob DLC (Bedrock) While correct, it's only for Bedrock Edition and the texture pack itself is exclusive to a single world. This texture pack is for Java players who want to play the full, regular Minecraft experience with a SpongeBob skin over it.

Mod Compatibility

While this resource pack mainly aims at changing vanilla Minecraft, it does include changes to a few smaller mods (mainly those that are considered quality of life additions).

List of Mods Nautical Nonsense Affects:

Recommended Mods (Non Required)

Optifine (or an Alternative) is Required

Using this resource pack without Optifine will break several textures, the skybox and all custom models. It was also designed with Optifine in mind so the results in alternative mods may vary greatly.

Bedrock Version?

There are no plans to make a Bedrock version (at the moment), mainly due to the very limited ability to customize the skybox. If there's an efficient way to add custom day and night skyboxes, a Bedrock version will then be considered.
