!!!! With the update to the horse and horse_saddle model changes in the new minecraft updates compatibility the pack will mainly work with etf and emf. Perhaps it will be compatible with optifine in the future but development will be focused with the use of etf and emf with no optifine tests.

Beyond Horses is a resource pack that aims to increase the mount options in minecraft by transforming horses into other minecraft mobs by simply renaming them with a nametag!

Using a nametag, you can transform a horse into a different mob by putting its name in between brackets: [mob name]

In the example we got two horses:

• Horse on the left we named "Shadow" it stays a normal horse.
• The horse on the right is named "[Wolf] Shadow" it becomes a wolf!

Try it out and take your mounts beyond just horses!

This resource pack uses a mod feature to change minecraft models. For the pack to work I recommend to use ETF and EMF.

Beyond Horses is being developed in two major phases, each focusing on different aspects of the project.

Phase 1: Core Models & Basic Animations (In Progress)

✅ Create custom models for each mob-mount.
✅ Implement vanilla walking animations.
✅ Ensure saddle is visually correct, including rein positions.

Goal: Get all mobs functional as mounts before moving into more advanced animations and armor integration.

Phase 2: Advanced Animations & Armor

🔄 Introduce customized jumping animations tailored to each mob.
🔄 Incorporate vanilla-like idle animations (chicken flapping while falling etc.).
🔄 Add armor models & textures for each mob-mount.
🔄 Ensure different armor types display correctly in-game.

Goal: Bring more life to the mounts with better animations and fully functional armor visuals.
