Magic Combat - Spellbooks

Some weapons from Iron's Spells n Spellbooks have unique animations, separate from the Better Combat presets. But now all of them! And in Hazen n Stuff, a majority of the weapons do not have Better Combat support at all. This datapack aims to fill in those gaps!

What does this datapack add?

For Iron's Spells n' Spellbooks:

• Changes the Magehunter into a shorter 2-piece stab and uppercut, more fitting of a "magehunter"
• Changes the Boreal Blade from the preset Claymore to a 4-piece combo with a spinning attack.
• Changes Hellrazor, making the first slash a one-handed uppercut in a 5-piece combo, finishing with a vertical slash similar to Tyros' attacks
• Adds animations to Twilight Gale, which originally did not have any:
  • When dual-weld or used with a shield, will only have a 2-piece slash and stab
  • When it's the only weapon in your hand, will have an additional vertical slash and spin, making it a 4-piece combo

For Hazen n Stuff:

• Changes the Ancient Warrior's Axe to a 2-piece slash, with the stronger hit being the first of the two
• Adds animations to Bountiful Harvest, giving it a spinning attack on the third hit and an appropriate range bonus given the weapon's size
• Changes the Fireblossom Rapier from the preset Rapier animation to one similar to Amethyst Rapier from ISS, with extra animations: a 5-piece strike with many stabs
• Changes the Starfury animation to be a 3-piece that strikes in a triangular shape
• Adds animations to the Ice Pike, a 5-piece halberd combo with stabs, slashes, and spins
• Adds animations to the Skyscorcher, two horizontal slashes into an uppercut slam, a 4-piece combo
• Adds animations to Beongae, giving it an entirely new identity:
  • When wielded on its own or with a shield, will have a slash-stab-slam 3 piece
  • When dual-wielded with itself, will have an additional uppercut from the off-hand and dual-slash with both axes instead of a slam

This is designed for my own personal modpack, and I recommend using an attribute modifying mod (I use a 1.21.1 NeoForge port of Attributizer) to give HNS weapons more attack speed, because they are relatively slow and don't feel so good to use with Better Combat.

Blood Scythe changed to have a slam-spin in addition to the generic 2-piece, making it a 4-piece

Evocation Twinblade changed to add 3 additional hits to the combo, adding a spin-uppercut-slash, making it a 5-piece

Ice Crusher changed to fit its name better, starting with a slam before swinging twice into a heavier slam and a spin, another 5-piece

Lightning Spear changed from the generic stab to cycling through all 3 stab animations

• When not dual-wielding/with a shield: double slash into a double stab spin
• When dual-wielding: stab-uppercut on both weapons into a double cross-slash

The Earth Weapon which name I forgot reworked to use Claymore stance pose and a custom combo instead of the scythe generic: uppercut-vert slash-double horizontal slash-slam

Ozymandias' Sundries

Cinderous Scimitar changed to have 2 stances:

• When not dual-wielding: slash-stab-slash
• When dual-wielding: main-hand will stab, off-hand will uppercut, and ends with a double cross-slash

Eldritch Greatsword changed to a double-slash double-stab 4-piece

Ender Glaive changed to a more satisfying 5-piece polearm combo with a slash-spin finisher

Levin Sword changed to have 2 stances:

• When not dual-wielding: quick slash-stab 2-piece
• When dual-wielding: main-hand will stab, off-hand will uppercut, ends with a cross double-stab

Sacrificial Kris changed to have 2 stances:

• When not dual-wielding: quick slash-uppercut 2-piece
• When dual-wielding: Initiate with a double cross-slash and finish with a stab from both weapons

Sanctified Sword changed to a slash-stab when paired with a shield or any other off-hand. When just used alone, will have a 4-piece slash-spin-slash-stab

Spectral Greatsword changed to a double slash-spin-stab 4-piece

Stormcaller Trident changed to a double stab-slam 3-piece

Magic From The East

Taiji Sword given a more eastern-feeling 3-piece combo, stab-slash-uppercut

Soul Breaker changed to a 4-piece with all horizontal swings, starting by twirling the handle about and alternates between one-handed and two-handed swing animations

Muramasa SFX lowered to sound more ominous than Masamune, added an uppercut in the middle of the katana combo to give it slight variation from Masamune
