This resource pack changes the mace’s model and rendering behavior based on two existing Minecraft design references.
Minecraft Dungeons
The mace model draws inspiration from hammer-type weapons in Minecraft Dungeons, which typically use a clear separation between the handle and the striking head, with the head as a solid cube rather than a flat surface.
This resource pack applies the same principle by giving the mace a heavy core with real depth, while keeping the handle and proportions consistent with vanilla Minecraft. The result is a weapon where the part intended to deliver impact is treated as a three-dimensional object, matching how similar weapons are constructed in Minecraft Dungeons.
By adopting this structure, the model maintains consistency with Dungeons’ hammer designs while still fitting naturally into Minecraft’s existing item scale and style.

Vanilla Item Rendering
The mace is also inspired by how certain vanilla Minecraft items, such as the trident and spyglass, are rendered differently depending on context. These items use a flat 2D texture for inventory slots, item frames, and GUI elements, while switching to a fully 3D model when held or used in-game.
This resource pack follows the same rendering approach. The mace uses a standard 2D icon for inventories and item frames to remain consistent with vanilla UI presentation, while using a separate 3D model when held in first- or third-person view.
