BlazeandCave's Advancements Pack is one of the first advancement datapacks ever created and is also one of the largest and most feature-packed. It adds over 1000 new advancements to your world so you have some extra challenges to do in your survival world.

Notable features:

Over 1000 new advancements!

BlazeandCave's Advancements Pack adds over 1000 new advancements to your world, bringing the total up to 1202, which brings numerous new challenges to your survival world or a competitiveness to servers. Some new advancements are inspired by various existing pre-1.12 achievements as well as achievements that are exclusive to the Bedrock or Console editions of Minecraft. Many are purely original ideas of my own or of other people (see extra credits section). You may find a list of advancements here.

16 Advancement Tabs in total!

All five of the tabs in vanilla advancements have had many more advancements added to expand upon what was already there, and many new advancement tabs have been added for more specific categories.

Advancement scoreboard

There is a built-in scoreboard that will count how many advancements you have obtained so far in your world. Great for seeing your progress or for competing with your friends! There is also the points scoreboard which awards different amounts of points for harder advancement tiers (task, goal, challenge and so on). The amount of points awarded by each advancement tier can be changed in the config menu!

Item Rewards and Trophies given via functions.

Item rewards give you a little bonus for completing many of the advancements, while trophies are special decorative items that are awarded for completing many challenge advancements.

Cooperative Mode

An option that can be toggled on, cooperative mode makes it so that advancements are shared across all players on a world, allowing you to work together to complete advancements. This is best used in worlds with a small number of players that work closely together.

Teams

If you wish to compete in groups, you can join teams and have your scores get added up and contribute to your team.

To join a team, use the following command:

/team join bac_team_ <player's name>

You can press tab after typing in bac_team_ to see the list of teams.

Full translation support.

All advancements are fully translatable using the BACAP Language Pack, including Spanish, Russian, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Pirate Speak LOLCAT and more.

The downloaded datapack should be a zipped file named "BlazeandCave's Advancements Pack" and then followed by its version number.

Installation instructions are as follows:

Once the datapack is installed, go into the world. A message should pop up saying you are using BlazeandCave's advancements pack. If not, check your advancements menu. You should see the custom tab named "BlazeandCave's Advancements." If you forgot to load the datapack when creating from a new world, type the command: /datapack enable "file/bac_advancements"

Configuration

The advancements pack can be easily configured using the config menu, which can be displayed by running the following command: /function blazeandcave:config

Using the config menu you can:

Warning: The config menu will not open if you do not have operator permissions. This includes if you are playing on Hardcore mode. To gain operator permissions in singleplayer, click "Open to LAN" then click "Allow Cheats" so that it is set to ON.

For advanced information on what you can do with the config menu, please read this document.

Updating to newer versions

The Advancements Pack will be updated for later Minecraft versions and snapshots to add more advancements or fix bugs. Here is how to safely update to newer versions:

  1. Make a backup of your world for safety if you screw anything up
  2. Leave your world for more safety and don't go in during the process
  3. Delete the old datapacks COMPLETELY from your world
  4. Copy and paste in the new updated datapacks
  5. Go into your world
  6. If you screwed up, go to your backup, make a backup of your backup, then repeat steps 2-6 on the backup.

Troubleshooting and FAQ's

I am aware of a number of issues involving installing advancements, particularly if you try to install them on servers. I am not an expert on servers, but here are a few questions I've been frequently asked and how they were solved:

Why is "X" advancement not working? Some advancements will break on Spigot and Paper servers. Any server that runs the Advancement Pack must be a vanilla server, or else some advancements may not work. This is due to these servers changing around data that makes the detection for these advancements break.

Some examples of these broken advancements may include, but are not limited to: When Piglins Fly, Custom Boss Fight, Trick or Treat, Slenderman, Mollusc Man, Captain Etho, Rock Paper Scissors, This name sounds cooler, I'll be back, Event Horizon, The Beginning, The Perfect Run.

How to turn on/off item rewards and trophies or display the scoreboard: The config menu lets you do that using the following command: /function blazeandcave:config For more information read its section above.

The config menu won't show up when running the command: The config menu only shows up if you are opped on a server or have cheats enabled in singleplayer.

The scoreboard is not working even when using the config menu: Type in these commands in order: /scoreboard objectives add bac_advancements dummy {"text":"Advancements"} /function bc_rewards:update_score /scoreboard objectives setdisplay sidebar bac_advancements

Rewards or Trophies are not given: Make sure to check they are enabled on the config screen. By default they are turned on.

If you are on a server and are positive they are turned on, this would likely be occurring due to permissions or due to server plugins (e.g. Spigot will almost always screw with this datapack) because, sadly due to the way advancements and functions work, if a non-opped player gets an advancement they may not actually trigger any function rewards.

I lost a trophy! Help! You can use the following command to give yourself the trophy of a specific advancement back: /function bc_rewards:trophy//

Some advancement tabs (such as the Super Challenges tab) don't show up: A tab will not show up if you haven't gained any advancements in that tab yet. For example the Super Challenges tab is not unlocked until after defeating the Ender Dragon.

The custom advancements are plain not showing up at all: If the above don't work, any number of things could be happening to cause this to happen. Try restarting the server or using the /reload command. Remember when placing the advancements into your world's folder, you have to paste the "bac_advancements" folder into the following folder directory: /datapacks. Do NOT copy them into plain /advancements - that's the folder that contains player files (i.e. a list of each player and what advancements they have gotten), not the advancements themselves.

If your question is not answered here or my advice doesn't work for you, you could try messaging your problem on my Discord and you may be able to get help. Or try searching on Google for advice on how to fix these problems.

I cannot guarantee compatibility with any other datapack, or with mods. This datapack modifies the vanilla advancements so if any other datapack(s) you attempt to use alongside this datapack relies on or also modifies the vanilla advancements there may be compatibility issues.
