Introduces a lightweight social mechanic that rewards players for cooperative biome exploration. When two or more players remain within the same biome for a continuous period, they begin accumulating a shared bond score tracked per biome type.
As this score increases, both players receive stacking benefits:
- Slightly increased movement speed
- Minor damage resistance
- Improved luck when fishing or mining
The bond deteriorates when players separate into different biomes, encouraging teams to stick together during expeditions.
Bond Mechanics
Each biome type maintains its own separate bond progress. A duo that has extensively explored jungles together will have strong jungle synergy but must build fresh bonds in deserts or taigas.
The system uses minimal scoreboard operations and periodic checks rather than constant ticking, keeping server impact negligible. Exploring with a consistent partner feels meaningfully rewarding without adding fantasy elements or complex progression systems.
