Customizable Elytras

by PlanetNydro · on Modrinth

A datapack that allows you to both dye and apply armor trims to your elytra, creating thousands of new possible combinations!

Which Minecraft do you have?

Every version of the game needs its own build. Pick yours, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game. This mod is built for Data pack only.

⬇ Download for 26.1–26.1.1⬇ Download for 1.21.11⬇ Download for 1.21.4⬇ Download for 1.21.3
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

RESOURCE PACK IS REQUIRED

Have you ever wanted to have a little more customization options for your elytra, but found capes just aren't quite enough?

This datapack allows you to apply dye and armor trims to your elytra in the same way you can with leather armor, creating thousands of new possibilities!

By placing your elytra in a smithing table with one of a few specific items, you can give it a custom skin. Unlike dye colors, skins overwrite your cape texture. While elytra skins can be combined with armor trims, some of their unique designs may not line up perfectly with the trim textures.

Due to the leather dying system being added since the original version of this datapack, the original 16 dyed elytra colors have been turned into legacy skins. They should work exactly as they did before, albeit without the requirement for phantom membrane to recolor them, providing a more vibrant option for those who liked my original textures.

You can remove their dye or custom skins by placing them in a smithing table. If you add in a clock, you can also remove armor trims from them. Dye can be washed off in a cauldron.

The Race Suit skin comes from the Eerie Mojang Office Party event server, created by Blockworks. I simply modified it to fit onto the java elytra model. Every other texture is taken from some official version of java edition in some shape or form.
