About Better Building Recipes

Better Building Recipes adds a small set of practical stonecutter recipes for players who like building without unnecessary extra steps.

What It Does

This project focuses on simple quality-of-life crafting changes that fit naturally into vanilla Minecraft. Instead of smelting, re-crafting, or wasting materials, you can use the stonecutter to quickly convert common building materials into more useful forms.

Included Recipes

Current recipes include cobblestone into smooth stone, cobblestone into smooth stone slabs, sand into glass panes, clay blocks into brick blocks, smooth stone back into regular stone, and regular stone back into cobblestone.

Design Goal

The goal is not to overhaul progression or make survival unbalanced. It simply makes building smoother, especially when working on large projects where you need lots of stone, slabs, panes, or brick blocks.

Available as both a datapack and mod versions for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge.
