BiomeBetray is a lightweight trolling datapack that turns biome transitions into moments of chaos. When a player enters certain biomes (deserts, jungles, swamps, and frozen areas), there is a random chance that two items in their hotbar will silently swap positions with items deeper in their inventory. This happens without any visual or audio cue, leaving players confused when they reach for their sword and pull out a stack of dirt instead :D :D
How It Works
The effect triggers using scoreboard detection for biome changes combined with item manipulation commands. The randomness is seeded per-player using their position coordinates, ensuring unpredictable but consistent behavior.
Configuration
- Swap chance: Approximately 15% per biome transition (kept low to maintain subtlety while still causing confusion)
- Adjustable trigger frequency: Server operators can modify a single scoreboard value to change how often the effect activates
- No permissions required for the effect to work on players
- Operator toggle: Use
/trigger biome_betray_toggleto exempt yourself from the swaps
Use Cases
Suitable for SMP servers where you want to add harmless chaos, or for content creators looking to prank friends during exploration streams :D :D :D
