Harder Elytras (Datapack)

by ERavn29 · on Modrinth

Which Minecraft do you have?

Every version of the game needs its own build. Pick yours, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game. This mod is built for Data pack only.

⬇ Download for 1.20.5–1.20.6⬇ Download for 1.20.3–1.20.4⬇ Download for 1.20.2⬇ Download for 1.20–1.20.1⬇ Download for 1.19.4
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

🔧 About

This is a datapack made to make it more difficult to obtain Elytras.

The fabric version can be found here.

Why?

I think many of us would agree that the Elytra is pretty OP, and they're quite easy to obtain once you get good at the game. You just have to beat the Ender Dragon (which isn't that hard), and then just run around and suddenly you have an Elytra!

For some people this is too easy, and for me this meant that me and my friends had an Elytra Within the first day that we opened our world. So i decided to fix it!

How?

The way i made it more difficult to obtain Elytras was, first of all, there is a bit harder recipe for Eyes of Ender, this doesn't do that much, but it slows the process of getting to the end a bit.

Then i made the Elytras you find in End Ships not work and called "Elytra Core". You need this Elytra Core to craft an Elytra. The other things you need is 1 Diamond, 6 Feathers and 1 Beacon (You can see the recipe for both the Elytra and the Eyes of Ender in Gallery, you can also change these recipes)

⚒️ Other info

Resourcepack

Without the Resourcepack, the Elytra Core will look like a Knowledge Book.

If you are planning to use this on a server, i recommend using this as the server Resourcepack or put the resources from this into your custom Resourcepack.

Changing the Recipes

To change the recipe for the Eye of Ender you first need to go to wherever you have the datapack and open the datapack then data > minecraft > recipes here there should be a file named ender_eye.json you can change this with the recipe you want, but the file with the new recipe have to be named the exact same.

To change the recipe for the Elytra you also need to go to wherever the datapack is and open it, then you go to data > harder_elytras > recipes there should be a file named elytra.json there. You can change the recipe like the Eye of Ender, it has to be named elytra.json or else it will not work. Note that where you want the Elytra Core to be, you need to put a Knowledge book.

For changing the recipe i recommend using TheDestruc7i0n's crafting recipe generator.
