Very Grindy Progression

by KNIZE1007 · on Modrinth

Crafting recipes for most tools and armor are far more expensive. Also locks certain OP features until you craft all diamond or netherite equipment.

Which Minecraft do you have?

Every version of the game needs its own build. Pick yours, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game. This mod is built for Data pack only.

⬇ Download for 1.20.5–1.20.6⬇ Download for 1.20–1.20.4⬇ Download for 1.19–1.19.4
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

Very Grindy Progression

This datapack changes recipes for most tools and armor to require ridiculous amount of resources to craft them, or just makes them more annoying to make. Normal crafting recipes are removed.

I really don't know why would anyone want to play with this, but i made it none the less. One of my friends thought of this dumb idea one time, and I finally made it.

Includes most materials except leather and netherite.

Features

Recipes Wooden recipes now use stripped wood instead of planks, except wooden axes which use normal wood. Showcase below.

recipe

Stone tools are now made of smooth stone, because everyone loves to smelt smooth stone, right?

recipe

Iron tools and armor are made of iron blocks instead of ingots. Buckets too.

Golden tools and armor are made of gold blocks. Very fun.

recipe

Diamond tools and armor are made of diamond blocks. Yes, that means that a chestplate costs 72 diamonds. full set costs 24*9=216 diamonds. Not including tools. But don't worry, netherite remains unchanged.

Feature Locks

End City Lock

Until you obtain all diamond armor and tools, you cannot visit end cities. Well, you can, but it will not end well. You thought you could just loot some end cities and not care about expensive crafting? Better luck next time.

Villager Lock

Until you get all netherite tools and armor (yes, even a netherite hoe), you cant trade with villagers. Again, you "can" but it will not end well for you, neither for the villager.

Spoiler for what will happen

You will explode when you enter an end city or interact with villagers. And that explosion will also destroy your items. You really got to be careful.
