Pyr - Overhauled Nether Portals
I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.
Click the activated portals for the corresponding resource pack without the data pack
Nether portals can now only be lit normally in an already linked part of the overworld or nether; at a ruined portal site. To summon a portal anywhere you have to mimic the portal structures of old already in the game.
Build a ruined portal frame, either:
- a 5x6 frame with a gold block on top in the middle, and place a glow item frame on top with a netherite ingot.
- a 8x10 frame with two gold blocks in the middle, two blocks above, and place a glow item frame with a netherite ingot on top of each.
Why?
To encourage the player to engage with their world seed's unique terrain; building around the seed and not in spite of it.
The datapack doubles as a REQUIRED resource pack.
