In vanilla Minecraft, glass takes a long time to break and it isn't possible to instantly mine it even if you use an Efficiency V netherite pickaxe with a Haste II beacon. This is because glass isn't assigned an 'ideal tool' in the code.
FastGlass Instamine is a simple datapack that adds every glass variant (glass + panes, all stained glass + panes, and tinted glass) to the "mineable/pickaxe.json" tag file, which assigns the pickaxe as the proper tool to break glass. This results in glass being faster (but not instant) to mine when using an unenchanted pickaxe, and fully instant mineable using any pickaxe with the Efficiency V enchantment without a beacon, just like netherrack.
This datapack works with and has been tested on Minecraft versions 1.17 to 1.20.4 including 1.20.5 snapshots. It does not work on versions earlier than 1.17, but it should continue to work on versions beyond 1.20.5.
