📖 Overview

BalancedCraftingRecipes is a vanilla-compatible data pack (no mods required) that reworks dozens of crafting recipes around a single idea: nothing should be a dead end. Misplaced a dye? Re-dye the block. Over-built with slabs? Turn them back into planks. Got a worn-out anvil or a low-tier tool? Upgrade it at the smithing table instead of starting over. Found a rare pottery sherd? Duplicate it.

Every change keeps the vanilla feel — recipes stay intuitive and roughly cost-fair — while cutting out the busywork and the resource bleed that vanilla crafting often forces on you.

✨ Features

💡 The recurring theme: if vanilla makes you re-grind, re-gather, or discard — this pack gives you a sensible recipe instead.

❓ FAQ

Do I need Fabric, Forge, or any mod?

No. It's a pure data pack and runs on unmodified Minecraft.

Will it break my existing world or recipes?

It only adds or overrides crafting/smithing/stonecutting recipes — it doesn't touch your blocks, items, or saves. You can remove it at any time with /datapack disable.

Does it work on older versions like 1.20?

No. It targets 1.21.9 and newer (it relies on recent items such as copper tools/armor and shelves). Older versions use a different pack format.

Can I use it in a modpack on Modrinth?

Yes — you may include this pack in any Modrinth modpack, as long as you credit the original page.
