Enchant Extract
Enchant Extract adds a simple and vanilla-friendly way to recover enchantments from your items.
Drop an enchanted item and a regular book onto a grindstone to transfer the enchantments onto the book. The original item will lose its enchantments, and the process costs experience levels in Survival mode.
Features
- Extract enchantments from enchanted items
- Uses the existing grindstone mechanic
- Costs XP in Survival mode
- Free in Creative mode
- Supports custom enchantments
- Multiplayer compatible
- Server-side datapack
- No resource pack required
How to use
- Place a grindstone.
- Drop an enchanted item onto it.
- Drop a regular book nearby.
- Make sure you have enough XP levels.
- Receive an enchanted book containing the extracted enchantments.
Balance
Each enchantment costs 5 XP levels to extract.
Example:
- 1 enchantment = 5 levels
- 2 enchantments = 10 levels
- 3 enchantments = 15 levels
Why?
Minecraft allows players to remove enchantments with a grindstone, but those enchantments are permanently lost.
Enchant Extract expands the grindstone's functionality by allowing enchantments to be recovered and stored on books while keeping the mechanic balanced through XP costs and existing vanilla gameplay.
