Civilization's Beginnings is a datapack designed to transform the survival experience in Minecraft, slowing down progress and encouraging cooperation among players. Instead of facilitating individual advancement, this pack presents an environment where planning, teamwork, patience, and resilience are key.
Main features:
- 🧾 Crafting recipes: Recipes only appear in your book after you've crafted them manually.
- 🌱 Growth slowdown: Random tick speed reduced to one-third of the vanilla rate, making plant growth noticeably slower.
- 🌙 Terraria like beds: Instead of instantly skipping the night, they speed it up.
- 😠 Angered mobs: Even after killing you, they won't forget.
- 💧 Finite water sources: Water no longer duplicates itself from nearby sources.
- ❄️ Snow behavior: Snow layers can stack above full blocks, changing terrain subtly over time.
- 🪦 Random respawn: Each death respawns you somewhere new, far from familiarity.
- 🔥 Slower smelting/cooking: Food and ores take 4 to 6 times longer, depending on the method.
- 🏘️ Village scarcity: Villages are smaller, rarer, and often plagued. Only 25% remain unzombified.
- 🧱 Reworked crafting stations: Crafting tables now require flint and leather, furnaces bricks, and beds feathers and leather.
- ⚒️ New toolsets: Added flint, copper, bronze, brass and steel tools and weapons.
- 🌾 Biome-based farming: Crops now drop from specific plants.
- 🥕 Meaningful crops: Each crop has a 10% chance of backfiring into a poisonous version.
- 🌽 Serious dedication: Farming-related blocks won't drop their full version unless they are broken with a hoe or intended tool.
- 🪓 Tool overhaul: Crafting tools nor requires a handle (leather) and string. Metalic tools also require waxing (honeycomb, resin clumbs, slime or zinc ingots)
- 🎲 Loot table overhauls: Certain items will only drop if mined with the right tool (Eg. Logs)
- 🍗 Variet diets: Make sure to eat nutrients, proteins and carbohydrates if you don't want to get debuffed or even die. But don't overdo it!
- ⛏️ New ores: Added tin, sulfur and zinc ores
- 🐢 Slow pace: Designed to play calmly and strategically.
