Craft magma blocks into magma cream and magma cream into blaze powder to fuel your brewing.
Combine mushrooms or nether fungi to make nether wart.
Brewing stands already exist in village churches and igloo basements though I have made blaze rods craftable by combining two blaze powder for convenience.
Find magma blocks near ruined portals, ocean ruins, and abundantly in underwater magma features deep in the ocean (the bubble columns that pull you down).
Soul sand can also already be found near the center of Ancient Cities if you wish to plant your nether wart instead of using it immediately for brewing.
Go get spelunking and scavenging these overworld ingredients that exist spread across your world.
Also provides an alternative way to farm potions if you enjoy that.
