Ven's Crafting Tweaks

This datapack aims to improve vanilla crafting recipes, bring more consistency to them, and make several items craftable that were previously uncraftable.

Some of the major changes are listed below, but many recipes were changed! Try out the datapack to discover how these tweaks feel to you! I hope that you will enjoy it!

Improvements

• Stairs and slabs can now be crafted in the 2x2 crafting grid, allowing easier access to these common items.
• You now only need 4 diamonds to duplicate an armor trim instead of 7, but you will need more of the template material.
• Powered Rails are crafted with copper instead of gold.
• The jukebox is crafted using amethyst and redstone instead of diamond.
• You no longer need slime to craft leads.
• Fence gates are made with two fences, allowing you to convert on the fly.
• The lodestone is crafted using a netherite scrap. (Keeping them expensive, but not too expensive!)
• Bundles need 3 rabbit hide to craft. (Cheaper than the original recipe, but not trivial!)
• Cakes are crafted with 2 less milk buckets, 2 sweet berries are used instead as the topping!

Consistency

• Some recipes give you more items, being more fair with how many blocks you put in. For example, you now get 6 trapdoors instead of 2.
• The shape of recipes more closely resembles the shape of the items being crafted.

New Craftables

• Name tags. Crafted with string and rabbit hide.
• Saddles. Crafted with leather, rabbit hide, wool, and iron.
• Horse Armor. Crafted with 6 of the armor material, and one wool.
• Bells. Crafted with sticks, gold, and a gold nugget.
• Pottery sherds. You can now duplicate pottery sherds with bricks.
• Honey pistons! You can craft sticky pistons with honey as well as slime.
