AcidIsland - Toxic SkyBlock

Which build do you need?

This mod ships a separate file for every mod loader and every version of the game. Pick both, then download — the wrong build installs fine and then does nothing in the game.

I don't know my version or loader
Open the Minecraft launcher and look at the profile you play on — it names both, like fabric-loader-1.21.4. The version also shows in the bottom-right corner of the game's main menu.
No loader in the profile name? Then it's plain Minecraft, and these mods won't run — you need Fabric or NeoForge installed first.

☠️ AcidIsland — SkyBlock, But the Ocean Wants You Dead

AcidIsland replaces SkyBlock's void with an endless ocean of acid that damages anything it touches. You start on a small island surrounded by it. Every block you gather, every trip to a neighbour's island, every fall off your own build happens over water that burns.

AcidIsland is a game mode for BentoBox, so BentoBox must be installed first.

🎮 What Makes AcidIsland Different from SkyBlock?

💧 Purified Water

Water drawn from the acid sea hurts to drink, so clean water has to be made:

Drinking purified water heals instead of harming. The heal amount, and whether the mechanic runs in the Nether and the End, are configurable.

🌋 Sulfur Seas (Minecraft 26.2 and later)

On servers new enough to have them, AcidIsland uses the game's own toxic water:

Older servers quietly fall back to normal water and a warm ocean biome. Nothing breaks.

🔥 Geyser Offerings (Minecraft 26.2 and later)

Throw items into the water around a sulfur vent and it swallows them with a hiss. Floating items drift in on their own, so a throw doesn't have to be accurate. A few seconds later the vent erupts — and pays you back.

Admins get full control: rewards are defined in geyser-loot.yml, item worth in geyser-values.yml (which can defer to the Level addon's block values), and the config sets payout size, the exchange rate the vent trades at, the ceiling on any single reward, and whether feeding a vent provokes an early eruption. GeyserSacrificeEvent and GeyserTransmuteEvent let other plugins watch or change what happens.

⚙️ Everything Else

Teams with ranks and permissions, a large set of island protection flags for PvP and grief prevention, custom island blueprints, 24 translations, and compatibility with the whole family of BentoBox addons — Level, Challenges, Warps, Biomes, Limits and more. Free and open source.

📦 Installation

  1. Install BentoBox and start the server once so it creates its folders.
  2. Drop this jar into plugins/BentoBox/addons/.
  3. Restart the server. Worlds and a config.yml are created.
  4. Stop the server, edit config.yml, delete any worlds affected by your changes, and restart.

Requires: Paper 1.21.11+, Java 21, BentoBox 3.14.0+. The sulfur sea and geyser features need Minecraft 26.2 or later and are simply inactive on older servers.
