CompassTracker – Player Tracking Compass [Paper 1.16+] “Turn any compass into a live player tracker – just rename it!” Ever wanted a simple, vanilla-friendly way to hunt down your friends (or enemies) on a SMP or minigame server? CompassTracker does exactly that:
Take a normal compass Rename it on an anvil to any online player’s exact username Hold it and it will constantly point to that player in real time
No commands, no permissions, no extra items required. Works in main hand or off hand. If the target player logs off, the compass simply falls back to normal behavior (points to world spawn or last bed) until they come back online. Perfect for:
Manhunt / speedrunner vs hunter servers SMP betrayal moments Hide & seek or prop hunt Any server that wants lightweight player tracking without giving away coordinates
Features
Zero configuration – drop and go Updates every 0.25 seconds (super smooth) Works across the entire inventory (main/off hand checked, easily expandable) Lightweight – only runs when players are online Built for Paper 1.16–1.21+ (uses Lodestone API properly)
