Snorch
Snorch is a custom heat system built for an SMP where normal torches felt useless in snowy biomes. Instead of melting two blocks and stopping, Snorch creates a strong, controlled heat source that clears snow and ice in a large area and keeps it clear.
The plugin adds three variants: the Snorch, Snorch Lantern, and Snorch Campfire. All three behave the same. Once placed, they search a configurable radius around them and begin melting snow in expanding rings. Snow layers reduce step by step, creating a smooth visual melt instead of instant removal.
Ice melts in realistic stages. Blue ice turns into packed ice, packed ice turns into regular ice, and regular ice finally disappears. This gives you control over both pacing and balance.
Configurable
- snorch-radius controls how far the Snorch searches for snow and ice
- melt-ring-delay-ticks controls how fast each melting ring spreads outward
- melt-layer-ticks controls how fast snow layers decrease
- ice-stage-ticks controls how fast ice progresses through each melting stage
You decide how powerful the heat feels. Make it subtle and slow for survival balance, or fast and aggressive for large-scale clearing.
