⬇ Download on ModrinthDeathBeacon is a lightweight Minecraft Paper plugin that creates a highly visible particle beam and a dynamic timer at the location of a player's death, making item recovery stress-free and reliable.
Key Features
- Infinite Particle Beams: A vertical beam of light marks your death spot, visible from any height (even if you died deep underground).
- Dynamic Boss Bar Timer: A visual countdown appears at the top of your screen, showing exactly how long you have before your items despawn.
- Multi-Death Support: If you die multiple times, the plugin tracks every location. Old beams remain active until you clear them.
- Smart Item Recovery: Beacons extinguish automatically as soon as you gather your remains.
- Customizable Aesthetics: Use commands to change the colors of both the beacon particles and the Boss Bar.
- Fully Server-Side: No client mods required.
Functionality
In vanilla Minecraft, finding your items after death is often a race against a hidden clock. DeathBeacon removes the guesswork. When a player dies, a particle beam is spawned that reaches the top of the world, and a Boss Bar tracks the despawn timer.
Unlike other plugins, DeathBeacon supports multiple death spots. If you die on your way back to your items, the new death won't overwrite the old one. The Boss Bar will track your most recent death, but all previous beams stay active until the items are recovered or they despawn naturally.
Commands
/db set beacon color <color>– Change the color of the particle beam./db set bar color <color>– Change the color of the Boss Bar./db set duration <seconds>– Adjust the despawn timer length./db clear <player>– (Admin) Manually remove all active beacons for a player./db reload– Reload the configuration.
Installation
DeathBeacon is a server-side plugin. Simply drop it in your plugins folder and restart your server. No client installation is necessary.
Disclaimer
DeathBeacon is designed for Paper 1.21+. While it is highly optimized, having dozens of active beacons simultaneously may impact client-side FPS depending on the player's hardware. Admins can use the /db clear command to manage excessive beacons if necessary.
