Searching
Searching is a high-performance loot container and searchable chest plugin designed for RPG, survival, extraction-style, and exploration-based Minecraft servers.
The plugin has gone through multiple major refactors, and the current 1.4.2 version is the most stable and optimized release so far.
Older versions are still usable but are no longer maintained.
Searching is now completely free — there is no premium edition anymore.
Features
High Performance Runtime Design
Searching preloads node types, loot tables, pools, items, tiers, refresh policies, and related configurations into memory caches.
The runtime system uses:
- coordinate cache lookup
- expiration-based refresh checks
- inventory diff synchronization
- batched statistics persistence
Internal stress test results:
- Checking 10,000 non-expired searchable nodes resulted in 0 actual refresh operations, taking approximately 28ms
- Synchronizing inventory diffs for 100 players simultaneously opening search UIs took approximately 16ms
(Actual performance may still depend on server hardware, database setup, item plugins, and hologram plugins.)
Flexible Loot Pool System
Searching uses a layered reward structure:
Node Type → Loot Table → Loot Pool → Item
Nested loot pools are fully supported.
This allows server owners to create advanced reward systems such as:
- common loot pools
- rare loot pools
- epic reward chains
- special event rewards
- extraction shooter style loot progression
- a small chance to enter a rare pool
- then another small chance to enter a mythic pool
- amount ranges
- weighted probability
- rarity tiers
- reveal/search duration
- EXP rewards
- custom values
Built-in In-Game UI Editor
Searching includes a visual in-game editor.
You can manage:
- searchable node types
- loot tables
- loot pools
- reward items
- rarity tiers
- refresh policies
- hologram templates
The editor supports:
- create
- edit
- delete
- pagination
- configuration validation
