EterniaMusic
EterniaMusic is an EULA-friendly, MIDI-powered music engine for Paper Minecraft servers. It comes with 100+ songs included — ready to play out of the box. Want to play Lord of the Rings music in a bossfight? Gangnam Style in spawn? Now you can!
Music is played privately to each player — only the listener hears it. Each player has their own independent playback session with personal volume control, queue, and crossfading. Drop additional .mid files into the songs/ folder to expand your library.
Features
- MIDI playback engine — parses .mid files and maps 128 MIDI instruments to 16 noteblock sounds with full percussion support
- Per-player playback — independent volume, queue, pause/resume, and loop per player
- Crossfading — smooth linear volume transitions between songs
- WorldGuard region music — auto-play on enter, stop on exit, per-region volume and loop settings
- Ambient blocks — invisible sound emitters with distance-based volume falloff
- Jukebox support — custom music discs that play MIDI songs from jukebox blocks
- GUI song browser — paginated inventory GUI (requires EterniaCore)
- PlaceholderAPI expansion — now_playing, volume, queue_size, song_count, is_playing
- Player preferences — per-player volume and toggle saved to YAML, MySQL, or MongoDB
- Config migration — new config options are auto-merged on updates
- Multi-language support with language file migration
- bStats metrics
- Public MusicAPI for other plugins

How It Works
MIDI Playback
- Place .mid or .midi files in the songs/ folder
- The plugin parses MIDI sequences, mapping instruments and converting tempo to server ticks
- Each player gets an independent playback session with personal volume and queue
- Notes are played as noteblock sounds via player.playSound() every tick
- Configure WorldGuard regions in config.yml with a song, loop, and volume
- A background task checks player regions every second
- Songs play and crossfade automatically as players move between regions
