❓ FAQ

Q: How does skin disguise work?
A: The plugin automatically fetches skins from Mojang's API based on the nickname you choose. If a player with that name exists, their skin is applied.

Q: Can players have the same nickname?
A: No, nicknames are unique. The plugin prevents duplicate nicknames and conflicts with online player names.

Q: Do nicknames persist after restart?
A: Yes! Nicknames are saved in data.yml and automatically restored when players rejoin (if enabled in config).

Q: Can I disable colors?
A: Yes, set allow-colors: false in config.yml to disable color codes, or allow-hex: false to disable only hex colors.

Q: What happens if skin fetching fails?
A: The plugin falls back to the player's original skin if the Mojang API is unavailable or the username doesn't exist.

Q: Can I customize the hide mode name?
A: Yes! Edit hide-settings.name and hide-settings.skin in config.yml to customize the hidden identity.

Q: Does this work with other plugins?
A: TropicalNick uses ModernDisguise API which is compatible with most plugins. Some chat plugins may need configuration to display nicknames properly.
