Katze-AntiBot is a modern and reliable solution to protect your Minecraft server from bots, spam accounts, and automated attacks.
When a player joins the server, a sequence of numbers—e.g., "3 5 7"—appears in the title (center of the screen). To pass verification, the player does NOT need to type anything in chat—just press the corresponding hotbar keys (1–9) in order, switching between slots. This mechanic is simple for humans but extremely difficult for bots, effectively blocking the vast majority of automated scripts.

For even stronger protection, you can enable "confused mode," which uses visually similar characters (e.g., 0/O, 1/l/I) to further complicate automatic recognition.
The plugin also includes built-in proxy and VPN detection: upon connection, the player's IP is checked against up-to-date databases of known proxy servers, and suspicious connections are rejected before the player even enters the game world.
