Pixelmon Mod, better known as Pixelmon Reforged, drops the creatures, battles, trading and breeding of Pokémon into a Minecraft world. Every species through the ninth generation is here with its own hand built model and animation set, and they spawn in the biomes you would expect rather than sitting in a menu. Around them the mod adds the rest of the loop: Poké Balls to catch with, a Pokédex to fill, a PC to store your box in, gyms to challenge and a daycare for breeding.
Features:
- Every Pokémon up to generation nine appears with a hand made model, its own idle animation and correct typing.
- Wild spawns follow biome and time of day, so a swamp turns up different species than a snowfield.
- Battles run on the turn based rules from the handheld games, with a move pool of several hundred attacks.
- Poké Balls, Apricorns, bauxite ore and TMs are added as real items you craft and carry.
- A Pokédex tracks what you have seen and caught, and research quests from Professor Wisteria give it a purpose.
- Custom structures generate in the world, from Poké Centers and Poké Marts to gym towns, shrines and treasure grottos.
- Breeding at a daycare passes on moves and stats, and a PC block holds the boxes your party cannot.
- Rare seasonal and event forms turn up as well, including the Ashen, Strike and Spirit variants.
- The mod leaves vanilla files alone, so it sits alongside most other Forge and NeoForge mods without trouble.
How to Use:
- Install Forge or NeoForge for the Minecraft version you want, then drop the Pixelmon jar into
.minecraft/mods. - Give the game plenty of memory. The model and texture set is large, and four gigabytes or more keeps it steady.
- Start a new world. On first join a screen asks you to pick a starter, so choose one and it lands in your party.
- Craft Apricorn based Poké Balls, then throw one at a weakened wild Pokémon to catch it.
- Press the party key to check levels and health, and place a PC block once you have more than six.
- Find a gym town to take on a leader, and drop two matching Pokémon at a daycare when you want an egg.
