Hold That Chunk Mod is a mod that prevents the Minecraft client from immediately unloading chunks when it receives new data from the server. Instead, client-side chunks are periodically cleared based on the player’s distance. This chunk unloading strategy is particularly useful for participating in ice racing or elytra races on highly active multiplayer servers. Without this mod, players would encounter empty blocks when multiple players on the server move at high speeds. The issue is resolved because cached chunks can be easily redrawn before new fragment data arrives over the network. Additionally, you can increase the viewing distance by adjusting the “Ignore Server Render Distance” parameter in this mod’s configuration.
