Bigfoot Into The Woods Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) – Forest Terror Awakens

Bigfoot Into The Woods Mod adds two powerful cryptid mobs to Minecraft: Bigfoot and the Yeti. They live in specific biomes and react to how players behave around animals. This mod focuses on stalking, phases, and escalating danger.

Where Creatures Spawn

• Bigfoot

Behavior System (Phase Mechanic)

• Both mobs use a phase system based on how many animals the player kills in their biome.
• Animal kills increase a hidden counter.
• Phases:
  • Phase 1: Mostly neutral, hunts animals
  • Phase 2: More alert and aggressive behavior
  • Phase 3: Fully hostile and very dangerous
• Thresholds:
  • 8 kills → Phase 2
  • 16 kills → Phase 3
• Reset your counter with /reset_kills
• Manual phase control with gamerule bigfootPhase

Combat Abilities

• High health and strong melee attacks
• Can throw rocks
• Can leap forward
• Can break fragile blocks (like wood, leaves, glass) when aggressive
• Enters a rage state at low health with boosted stats

Special Traits

• Bigfoot
  • Can turn invisible at night if player is farther than 20 blocks
  • Leaves footprints and sound clues
  • Stalks before attacking
• Yeti
  • No footprints
  • Attacks more directly
  • Can turn invisible during snow if player is farther than 15 blocks

Hunger System

• Creatures become hungry over time
• They will hunt nearby animals first
• If no animals are nearby, they may target players
• Feeding them prevents hunger and gives regeneration
• Valid food items include:
  • Steak, cooked meats
  • Mushrooms
  • Apples
  • Carrots, baked potatoes
  • Honey, cookies, melon

Easter Egg Variant

• Right-click with a cake to trigger a special variant
• Changes appearance and behavior
• Does not despawn
• Fights hostile mobs
• Still dangerous if hungry or attacked

Useful Gamerules

• Disable despawn: bigfootDespawn false
• Disable block breaking: MobGriefing false
