Rolling Giant Oldest View Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) – Don't Look Away, Ever

Rolling Giant Oldest View Mod is a horror-style Minecraft mod inspired by an analog horror series. It adds a hidden underground mall and a special entity called the Rolling Giant that reacts to whether players are looking at it or not. An abandoned underground mall structure generates in the world, and a unique creature called the Rolling Giant appears there first. He stays still while directly watched, but if you look away, he can move and get closer. After your first mall visit, he can spawn near you anywhere in the overworld.

Mobs:

• The Rolling Giant
  • The Rolling Giant is an entity that first appears in the underground mall. After encountering him once, he will begin to spawn near the player, always knowing where you are. The Rolling Giant is extremely durable, dealing high damage and massive knockback. He remains motionless when looked at directly, but he can dash, suddenly rushing forward even while being watched. His rolling sounds echo loudly when he moves, making his approach unmistakable. Rarely, when nearby, he can spawn a dead horse beside him and cause a blinding effect, referencing his origins in The Oldest View. He can also break blocks in his path and will only attack players who have previously entered the mall.

Where to Find the Mall

• Usually generates in:
  • Forests
  • Plains
• Very rare and easy to miss
• Entrance is small (about one block wide at ground level)
• Use /locate to find it faster

Rolling Giant Behavior Rules

• Does not move when directly looked at
• May still move if:
  • You are too far away (about 100+ blocks)
  • Multiple Giants exist at once
  • Raycast detection fails
• Only targets players who have entered the mall before

Useful Settings

• Disable block breaking:
  • /gamerule mobGriefing false
• Force enable spawning:
  • /gamerule rollingGiantSpawning 2
