Quicksand is not easy to distinguish from other blocks, and once you step on it, you will quickly sink down and start taking damage. The quicksand mechanics are very similar to powdered snow.
At the moment there is no suffocation effect – you simply start taking damage if your head goes inside the sand. There are normal and red quicksand variants, and leather boots will save you from sinking. You can also collect quicksand in buckets and move it elsewhere, for example to create traps.
