Desolation Mod (1.21.8, 1.20.1) – Charred, Creepy Forest

Desolation Mod adds a charred and rather creepy forest to Minecraft. It’s a rare biome where everything is literally gray and black, giving the impression that a black-and-white filter has been applied to the game (though it hasn’t). The mobs are also in shades of gray and black, but most have bright orange spots that make them stand out noticeably.

• These rare enemies may drop hearts-a powerful ingredient in potion brewing.
• Other mysterious, curious creatures roam the woods or hide in trees. When fed specific fruit, they can uncover rare resources beneath the ash.

Immersive Atmosphere

• Every visual and mob design ties into a theme of decay, ruin, and eerie survival. The palette and ambient sounds crank up the tension without relying on jump scares.
