Lucent Mod adds dynamic lighting, meaning any light-emitting item held in your hand will cast real-time illumination. Even if dropped on the ground, the item will continue glowing realistically, making exploration much easier. Similar mechanics exist in Optifine and other mods like LambDynamicLights, Magnesium Dynamic Lights, and Dynamic Lights, but dynamic lighting can impact FPS, depending on the system. Lucent differs from other lighting mods by offering an open-source framework and configurable light refresh rates (lightRefreshRate in the config), allowing players to balance smoothness and performance. This mod lets players choose the most optimized solution for their gameplay experience.
