Healer Mod (1.12.2, 1.11.2) – Patch Log4Shell Vulnerability

Healer Mod is a Minecraft mod designed to address the Log4Shell vulnerability (CVE-2021-44228) in Minecraft Forge versions 1.7.10 to 1.12.2. This vulnerability, discovered in December 2021, affects the Log4j logging library used by many Java applications, including Minecraft.

Features:

• Removes the JNDI lookup from the Interpolator using reflection and replaces the default LoggerContextFactory to catch any LoggerContext loaded after this mod.
• If your launcher or Mojang’s fix has already addressed this vulnerability, installing Healer may not be necessary.
• Including Healer in server packs is recommended to ensure protection against the Log4Shell vulnerability.
• If any mod tries to programatically tweak logging configuration, they will fail miserably due to the exhaustive patching. To fix this, healer postpones the patching late enough, until said mods are done with their editing.
