Beneath the Wetlands Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) – New Features to Swamp Biomes

Have you ever had nightmares of vast ancient swamps, waiting and calling for you? And of some kind of the machines moving beneath their surfaces? Gigantic rusty gears, pistons and pipes. Wandering blue lights that lure strangers into the mire. The atrocious amalgam of living metal and rotting plants… Beneath the Wetlands Mod is a vanilla-style mod created by the Birchfolks team and inspired by a creepypasta. It focuses on expansion of the content related to swamp biomes. The main novelty of the mod is new structures built in the form of old mechanisms lurking in the depths of the wetlands.

Structures:

• Gear (in small, medium, big, and broken versions)
• Pipes (in small, medium, and big versions)
• Pistons (in small, big, and broken versions)
• Gear Mechanism
• Elder Mechanism Ruins – a structure with a specific mob and a chest

Blocks and Items:

• Silt – generates on the bottom of the swamps, sometimes drowns a player swimming above it
• Peat and Dry Peat – as well generates on the bottom of the swamps, can be dried in the furnace and used as fuel
• Sulfur Nugget – has a chance to drop out of peat, can be used to craft torches and as a one-time flint and steel
• Bog Iron Ore – generates on the bottom of the swamps
• Raw Bog Iron
• Raw Bog Iron Block
• Bog Iron Ingot – can be re-melted into a common iron ingot
• Block of Bog Iron
• Cut Bog Iron, Cut Bog Iron Slab, Cut Bog Iron Stairs
• Bottled Will-o’-the-Wisp – obtained by clicking on a will-o’-the-wisp with a bottle
• Copper Gear – a decorative block, can’t be used in redstone mechanisms
• Animated Copper Gear – used to build a copper golem, can be either crafted with a bottled will-o’-the-wisp and a copper gear or by clicking with the former on the latter
• Spawn Eggs for every mob

Mobs:

• Elder Golem – a hostile mob that spawns on particular structures in the swamps
• Copper Golem – a friendly mob that can be built by a player (the same principle as with an iron golem but an animated copper gear needs to be placed on its back)
• Will-o’-the-Wisp – spawns in the swamps at night and starts fleeing as a player gets close to it

• Achievements
• Swamp Call Sounds – rarely appear at night in swamp biomes
• Some hidden minor mechanics
