MumbleLink Mod (1.18.1, 1.16.5) – Proximity Chat

MumbleLink Mod is a mod that offers the possibility of integrating the positional audio provided by the open-source platform Mumble into our Minecraft games. This not only provides us with an in-game voice communication system but also allows us to add sound realism. This audio system will let us hear or not hear other players depending on whether we are close or far from them. But not only that, it will also make it so that if someone is talking to our left, we will hear them through the left speaker or earphone. The same applies if they are to the right, in front, or behind our character.

How to use:

Set up Mumble:

• Open Mumble and go to Configure > Settings.
• Enable Advanced options.
• In the Plugins section, enable Link to Game and Transmit Position.
• Find and enable Link.
• In the Audio Output section, enable Positional Audio.
• Start Minecraft with Forge and join a server.
• Open Mumble and connect to the server. You should now be able to use positional audio in Minecraft.
