In vanilla Minecraft, the overworld dimension has a bedrock layer at the bottom, the Nether dimension has two bedrock layers, one at the top and the other at the bottom, and finally, the End dimension has no bedrock layer at all. The Ceilands Mod is here with a new dimension that is completely different from all of the other dimensions in the game. This new dimension, called the Ceilands, only has a bedrock roof, with no bottom layer. The bottom void is clearly open and the player may fall off if not careful. The dimension comprises many floating islands and structures. The large spikes that come out from the ceiling in certain regions may trigger players with megalophobia, the fear of large structures, and they provide a majestic view. To enter the new dimension, the player will need to craft a Ceilands Portal Activator. The hint to do so is given when you acquire an Echo Shard for the first time. Once this item is obtained, the player has to find an ancient city and use the portal activator to activate the large reinforced deepslate portal at the center. This portal will grant you access to the Ceilands.
