Mending Nerf Mod (1.20.1, 1.19.2) – Nerfs The Mending Enchantment

Mending is a very powerful enchantment that gives you the ability to repair damaged tools, weapons and gears using XP orbs. If the gear equipped by the player has mending enchantment applied on it, the gear will automatically repair itself as you collect XP orbs via killing mobs and by other means. This means, you will be able to keep your best weapons, tools and armor pieces forever without worrying about them breaking off. For this reason, many players consider the mending enchantment to be overpowered. Mending Nerf Mod is for those players. As the name suggests, this mod nerfs the mending enchantment. It does so by removing the ability to repair items with the mending enchantment using XP orbs. Instead, it makes it so that mending items can be repaired in anvils without consuming the repair item (e.g. netherite ingots for netherite items). Repairing with mending works exactly like normal anvil repairing, and therefore the cost of repairing increases each time. This means, mending will no longer allow you to use a tool infinitely, as the repairing cost becomes “Too Expensive”.

• A repairing item is required in the second slot of the anvil, but it will not be consumed.
