The auto jump feature was added to the game so that players no longer had to spam the spacebar key whenever they had to successively jump over blocks. But the community had mixed reviews on this feature. Some loved it, and some did not. A toggle to enable/disable auto jump was added into the settings. The step-up movement was later created by mod developers so that players could automatically climb up blocks without wasting as much time as auto jump. Players could walk up a one block height instantly without jumping. Even then, a large portion of players still preferred jumping up heights by manually pressing the spacebar. Keep Stepping Mod is here for everyone. This mod allows you toggle between auto jump, step-up and manual jumping simply by pressing a keybind. The keybind is set to G by default, but this can be changed in the keybind settings.
