Simple Difficulty Mod (1.12.2) – Temperature and Thirst Mechanics

Simple Difficulty Mod is a mod that adds temperature and thirst mechanics intended as a replacement to the mod Tough As Nails.

Features:

While a player is in survival/adventure mode, the following mechanics will take effect:

Temperature

• The player will notice a temperature globe denoting both their internal and the environmental temperature, with occasional arrows indicating temperature changes. The player will receive damage should their Body Temperature rise or fall outside a predetermined threshold.

Thirst

The player receives a bar for Thirst, a water dependent counterpart to the vanilla hunger bar.

Blocks

• Campfire – A block that can be fueled by sticks and keeps players warm
• Rain Collector – Collects the rain and turn it into drinkable water
• Heating Coil – A machine that heats up its surrounding space (indoors are best)
• Cooling Coil – A machine that cools players up if they stand near it (indoors are best)

Items

• Thermometer – Measures your temperature
• Canteen – A portable water bottle, have multiple uses
• Charcoal Filter – Filters water from dirty water to clean water
• Ice Chunk- obtained by breaking Ice with a pickaxe and can be used to create cooling coils
• Magma Shard – obtained by mob drops or breaking magma, can be used to create heating coils
• Purified Water Bottle – Bottle of purified water
• Purified Water Bucket – Bucket of purified water

  • Cactus Juice

Armor

• Wool Armor – keeps you warm
• Ice Armor – keeps you cool
